Career Education Sales Rise 14%; Conseco Sales Up

3:00AM New York - Career Education Corporation sales rose 14% and net income was $20.8 million. Conseco, Inc revenues rose 10% and net income was $15.4 million.

American Medical Systems Holdings Inc, the supplier of urological medical devices said third quarter sales rose 5% to $123.2 million from $117.5 million a year ago. Net income in the quarter rose 717% to $28.6 million or 38 cents per diluted share compared to net income of $3.5 million or 5 cents per share a year ago.
